Life is a journey, a journey of radical transformation.
When you look at a tombstone, you find a birth date and a date of death, connected by a tiny little dash. But it’s that dash that represents the journey of one’s entire life.
For Christians, there’s a very important change point between Point A and B; it’s called CONVERSION.
From there you move into a journey of SANCTIFICATION. Sanctification is both instant and progressive, it occurs over your entire life. You begin to experience victory over things, over temptations you never conquered before. Day by day, inch by inch, you become more and more like Christ.
Finally, when God raises you as a new creature unto eternal life, sanctification is complete, and you find perfect peace. You’ve reached your destination. Well that, my friends, is life’s real purpose, and as believers, it’s part of our common “dash.”
