So what IS social justice? Or perhaps a better question is, “What has it become?”
It’s been said of social justice, “It’s a call for the State to do something to fix economic and relational inequities without regard to a universal principle of justice.” I couldn’t agree more!
Social justice simply means equal justice under law.
I suspect most of us would agree with that definition.
But what some do is separate “who” a person is and “what” a person does.
Certain behaviors are biblically prohibited by a perfectly just and holy God. By definition it’s unjust to violate them.
Any definition of social justice that attempts to do otherwise is inherently unjust. So while people are equal as far as their worth and dignity, their actions are not equal.
A just society ought to approve of righteousness.
Evil conduct deserves society’s censure!
