Bad shock absorbers lead to a bumpy ride.
We all need what I call internal shock absorbers. This world’s painful. You can be cruising along one day, and BAM, everything changes.
I had just such a moment when my first wife, Carol, got a cancer diagnosis that would prove fatal. Right then, I promised God, “I will not ever, no matter what happens, curse You and die. I will never blame you, Lord.” And when she did pass away, I followed through on that promise.
Was there a moment when everything in your life suddenly changed? That internal shock absorber is a must! We either get bitter or we get better! The shock absorber I’m referring to is God’s promise: He is with us wherever we go, even through the valley of the shadow of death!
